hi everyone! I am the IT support person at a fiber optic company. One of my users is trying to log thermocouple readings on a laptop and is running into some issues. I have no clue what this is or what it's for, but he did provide me some details. Has anyone run into an issue like below? Any other thoughts/suggestions?
What I was attempting to do was to use the NI data logger attached to the laptop to perform temperature data logging for OQ validations of TCI ovens.
I downloaded and installed the data logging software and utilities for our data logger to the laptop from the NI websight.
I connected thermocouples to the data logger and connected the data logger to the laptop using the USB interface.
Using the NI software and utilities I was able to identify the data logger and the connected thermocouples. I was able to set the thermocouple parameters, the scan interval and the run time of the scan in the NI program.
When I tried to record a scan the software crashed. I did this multiple times.
If I was to guess what went wrong I would think that sending the signal for the thermocouples through the USB interface or receiving the information from the data logger did not work with the laptop.
We have used this same configuration on another laptop successfully. We used an older version of the software.
