FPGA state machine deployment failed...

I tried to compile and deploy one of the NI FPGA examples using my cRIO 9014 module. I chose a state machine example for my 9205 analog input module. When I click the Run arrow, I get this message:

 Deploying variables - state machine.lvlib\\192.168.5.165\variables - state machine deployment failed (error: -2147220717, (Hex 0x80040313) The Remote Procedure Call connecting the client to the configuration server failed to be initialized. Your installation may need to be repaired.).

I'm new at this FPGA business. Any ideas?

Good Morning Jeff,

It seems like you are trying to deploy some shared variables to the cRIO-9014.  You will need to make sure that you have the Shared Variable Engine installed on the cRIO.

When you Add/Remove Software (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7191#toc2) under the target in MAX, make sure to not use the (minimal) installation because this does not include the variable support that you need.
