This presentation describes research activities and initiatives at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and how they are being integrated to develop a comprehensive data-driven, open, collaborative, framework for advanced grid research.
Four projects will be described:
SI-GRID (Software-defined Intelligent Grid Research Integration and Development platform) a low-voltage, 3-phase, microgrid research platform;
Continuous Data-Driven Model Development Framework which combines machine learning/optimization and real-time co-simulation-to-device model/control parameters;
Grid-SEER (Grid Self-Aware Elastic Extensible Resiliency) an FPGA-based real-time or faster, high fidelity, grid simulator
CSEISMIC (Complete System-level Efficient and Interoperable Solution for Microgrid Integrated Controls).
Speaker:
Mark Buckner, PhD – Group Leader, Power and Energy Systems Research Group, UT-Battelle
