data logging and acquiring analog signals simultaniously from SCXI with DAQ - card

dear sir,

Hardware Configuration:

NI - PXI - 1052 (CHASIS)
NI - PXI - 8186 (EMBEDDED CONTROLLER)
NI - PXI - 4472B (DSA)
NI - PXI - 6221 (MDAQ)
SCXI - 1520 (STRAIN)
Labview 7.1 RT

I am doing project with above hardware Configuration. As for my hardware for SCXI - 1520 Communicator hardware is NI- PXI - 6221, Problem arising  i cant acquiring simultaniously from scxi and 6211 analog inputs. acually  all the signal conditioning systems analog inputs are mapped with daq card of analog inputs. give for soultion to acquiring simultaniously from above two hardware.

another problem , as im doing data logging for 10,000 samples for each 8 channnels from NI - PxI - 4472B and SCXI - 1520 as a time base. for example if datalogging performed as 5 min.  the file size will be more than 5MB. it cause cant able to read the files. for datalogging i doing file write and read option from labview. give solution for bulk data logging using labview. if possible to do compress file.

Hi Balaji,

Are you using the SCXI-1346 to access the other channels on the PXI-6221? Do you have the SCXI-1520 in parallel mode? Normally, you can use the SCXI-1180 feedthrough module to gain access to the other channels, but in the case of the 1520, you need the SCXI-1346. See this KnowledgeBase for more information.

As for datalogging, what VIs are you currently using? With the Write to Measurement File, you can configure the Express VI to write to multiple files. It may not be the most efficient method, but will easily distribute your data amongst several files so that they do not become exceedingly large. Are you seeing the datalogging taking too much time?
