can I get information about a non NI device on the PXI bus

i am using a NI8156 embedded controller and using 6713 and one non NI device . I would like to get the inforamtion about the non NI device also ...during initialization ...like
GET_DAQ_DEVICE_INFO....
can I use the same function for non_NI instrument or I have to use a seperate one.

GET_DAQ_DEVICE_INFO is designed specifically for National Instrument Data Acquisitions devices. This function won't work for 3rd party PXI devices, however NI-VISA will allow you to look at some of the attributes of different devices. Depending on what information you need to find out this may be an option for you. What particular information are you looking to get about your PXI devices?
