PXIe-8301 Thunderbolt requires PC reboot

When my PC Intel NUC8i7BEH with Thunderbolt 3 goes to sleep the PXIe-8301 turns from green to Amber. After the PC wakes up the PXIe is still Amber and requires a PC reboot to turn green. Is this normal or is there a bios or PXIe-8301 setting to fix.  I know I can force the PC to never go to sleep but it seems that the PXIe should be able to recover.

Unfortunately, this why we state that the Thunderbolt MXIe connection isn't officially hotswappable. It works 9/10 times and on most computers, but when the computer goes to sleep it shuts off power to those ports, and ends the connection. You'll have to consult the source of your laptop manufacturer if it's possible to keep these ports on.
