I am looking for development of a flexible but high end system on PXI Express standard.
The flexibility includes (1) Dual Boot option and (2) options for both Express and standard PXI modules.
It will be appreciated very much and will be of much help if an expert can answer my questions.
(1) Can a PXIe-8133 RT or a PXIe-8106 RT be made Dual Bootable? I am interested in Intel processors only.
(2) Is there any other option possible with equivalent performance specification as the above two ? Please also indicate an Express Chassis with more or less 8 slots.
Thanks.

A1: Yes, the PXIe-8133 can be made dual bootable. The PXIe-8106 does not support RT (only the PXI-8106 (not express) was released as an RT controller).
A2. I'm not aware of any other option with equivalent performance at this time, as the PXIe-8133 is our highest performance PXI Express controller, by quite a bit. Check out the data sheet for some comparisons of the 8133 to the 8108: http://sine.ni.com/ds/app/doc/p/id/ds-222/lang/en. You should look into either the PXIe-1082 for your chassis.

Thank you. Yes, I already had gone for PXIe-8133 and PXIe-1082.

Did you purchase an 8133 as an RT controller, or as a Windows controller?

as RT

Mohamed,
Just to be sure - are you using an NI PXIe-8133 controller, or do you have a different model?
For your controller, are you looking to replace the RT OS with a Windows installation, or are you looking to dual boot the controller?
Thanks,
Eric K

Mohamed,
The driver files are actually located inside the setup.exe under IntelStorage. In order for your controller to install them before installing your operating system, you will need to extract them from the exe. Information on how to do that can be found under step one here. Basically, in the command prompt, from the directory where the setup.exe is located, enter the command "SETUP.EXE -a -p c:\[directory you want to extract to]".
More information on setting up a dual boot PXI system can be found in the KnowledgeBase Dual-Booting Windows XP and LabVIEW Real-Time on a PXI Controller.
