Automatic deployment on PXI controller power on

Hello everyone,

I want to know if it's possible to deploy automatically the VeriStand definition system on the RT Target when the PXI controller is power-up ?

Below you can find my configuration :

  • PXI controller 8821
  • NI Linux Real-Time x64 5.10.106-rt64
  • VeriStand 2021

I know that in the "System Explorer" I can find the "System initialization" tab in which I can find a parameter called "RT Target Reboot action" where I can set "Run system definition" :

If I do a "Restart VeriStand Engine" the system is automatically redeployed on the RT target but if I turn off the controller PXI (Unplug the PXI) and then I plug it in the system is not automatically launched on the RT Target.

I didn't find any clear documentation on the subject and I don't know if it's not possible with this option or if I don't understand it. Maybe it doesn't work on a first start of the system but only on a restart action.

Can you help me on this subject ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

Do you mean that after you plug in the PXI, it does not boot up? Or did it boot up and start VeriStand Engine automatically but don't load the system definition file?

From what I can see the PXI boot up and start the VeriStand Engine automatically but it doesn't load the system definition file.

Because when I try to connect to it with VeriStand I get a pop-up "Connection error" saying that the definition file currently executing on the PXI is not the same as the one I have open on VeriStand.

This is what I can see if I unplug the PXI controller from the electrical network.

If i just turn it off and on manually without unpluging it I don't have this problem and system definition runs normally. (I did some more tests and I just observed that).

So it seems that the PXI controller loses the system definition file when I unplug it.
