Analog trigger for PXI 6255

So I have a PXI 6255 in a NI 1033 chassis and I have connected a trigger from my laser running at 1kHz in the APFI0. When I use DAQmx (the latest version) to configure a task, it runs without problem if I do it without a trigger. As soon as I connect a trigger though I get error number 200284.  The trigger parameters are rising analog edge with 5V.

I´ve tried modifing the sample number from 2 to 200 to make sure it´s not a timeout issue as well as increasing the default 10s clock to 1000s. I´ve also played with the rep rate a bit but looking at my trigger siganl on an oscilloscope gives me the proper value so I don´t think that is the problem either.

I am also pretty sure that the trigger is being read by my hardware as the signals I get are slightly modulated after I connect the trigger.

I have not configured an external clock.

All help greatly appreciated

Also, I´ve checked using only one channel, acquiring only two samples and the highest sampling rate allowed by my internal clock.

Why do I get a timeout?  :womansad:
