Project Title: DETECT AND ANALYSE OF CRACKS IN SURFACE MACHINERIES

Hardware & Software Used:

hardware : ni smart camera

software: labview,

What challenge/problem are you trying to solve through your application:

cracks in the machines rae not vissible to our human eye so by this project it will be use full for industries to identify the problem

How does your application solves the above mentioned challenge/problem:

by taking pitures of machiens  frequently execute the image in our project  in which we used labview can odentify the cracks and depth of the crack also

Description of Project:

Structural damages in metals present a serious threat to the performance of machineries since most of the structural failures are due to material fatigue. For this reason, efficient nondestructive testing methods allowing early detection and localization of structural damage needs to be developed.

Our project proposes a new method to detect and analyze the crack using various image processing techniques and stereo vision technique using LabVIEW. The image processing techniques includes image acquisition, pixel value calculation, histogram, thresholding and wavelet transform techniques. Using wavelet transform, the crack is analysed by calculation of mean, variance, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis. Stereo vision is a new concept in which a single object is captured by using two cameras and then merged to form a 3D image. The stereo vision system overcomes the error in perception on capturing an image with single camera. Using stereo vision technique, the depth and disparity map are formulated.
