Specs for IMAQ PCI 1408 Csync

I'm trying to use an IMAQ PCI 1408 to get images from our photomultipliertube.

I wanna use the Csync mode. As far as I can understand, Csync = Hsync+Vsync. But how does the IMAQ distingtuish Hsync and Vsync? Is there any standard or specs we should follow?

From Figure 3-3 in Page 3-7 of the manual (http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/321325d.pdf ), it seems that Vsync is just longer than Hsync. But how much long should it be?

I'm able to generate any kind of pulses using a USB-DAQ 6341. But I need to know the specs or standards.

Thanks in advance!

On page 2-7 of the manual you linked there are instructions for configuring the 1408 board for either TTL or RS-422 operation.

Is this the information you are looking for?

Thanks for the reply!

I know how to configure the hardware. I just don't know in the Csync mode, how does the IMAQ distinguish HSync with VSync

There should be an adjustable 'Acquisition Mode' setting on the 'Operating Mode' tab of the board in MAX you can set to CSYNC External. Have you tested the CSYNC mode yet?

Yes. I tested it. The Csync out is the same as my Csync in. It looks like my Sync signals work.

BTW, what is the latest version of Vision Acquition Module that supports IMAQ PCI-1408?

You can check the driver compatibility of your card here :

What Version of NI-IMAQ Does My Frame Grabber Support?

It looks like the most recent version of the NI-IMAQ drivers to support the NI PCI 1408 is IMAQ 3.7, included in Vision Acquisition 8.2. You can find a link to VAS 8.2 here.

In the future, you will likely have better luck posting questions regarding the PCI 1408 on our Machine Vision forum :

I hope this helps!
