Well, if you are new to TestStand then you shouldn't have to worry about older versions right?..... 😉
You can backsave SequenceFiles in TS but you may lose functionality. If you look at the What's New for each release you will see what kind of functionality you lose.
If you have TS installed on a PC then you can go to Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>TestStand x.x.x>>Documentation>>Manuals>>TestStandReleaseNotes. In there you will find the What's New section. So you can see what API commands have been added, what features have been added, etc..
