Hi ,
I have teststand version 2010 . I require to run a test for 96 hours . I have tried running the test for 2 days separtely, the first day it ran for 10 hrs and stopped running and gave an error " sequence editor stopped working " , the second day I got " UUT error , out of memory " . I am wondering if there is any work around for this out of memory.
My report generation and tracing is disabled.
Please let me know if anything additional is required to help me out.
Thanks

Manreet,
i expect the system to run out of memory because you execute too many steps with result collection enabled.

Norbert,
I have disabled the report generation completely , so I assume it should not be giving the same issue . I ran the test again with a wait of 10 sec after each set of steps and it ran for 24hrs, not sure how to accomplish the 96 hrs...

Because results can potentially be used for other things besides generating reports, disabling reports does not disable result collection. Results are cleared after each UUT, but if you have a lot of steps that are run for a single UUT you could run out of memory. You can disable result collection in multiple places, at the step level, sequence level, or globally as follows:
1) Step level - change the Result Recording Option to Disabled on the run options of the step.
2) Sequence level - in the sequence properties dialog check the checkbox to disable results for all steps in the sequence
3) globally - in the station options dialog on the first tab check the checkbox to disable result collection for everything.
Hope this helps,
