Multi-byte character performance

There is a message in TestStand warning the user that enabling multi-byte characters recognition will decrease the performance. My question is:

What performance (Engine?/UI?/SeqEditor?) ?

How is this performance affected?

That option makes string parsing a little slower. TestStand does a fair amount of string parsing in a lot of different situations. This could affect the Engine, UI, and Editor all to some degree, but the size of the effect and how noticeable it is will vary greatly depending on what you are doing. In most cases the effect is slight, making some operations a few percent slower. The best way to characterize the effect on your system is to try it.
