Is TestSand the right program?

Hello,
we are using HP-VEE for our Applications at the moment.
With this program it is hard to create "nice" UserInterfaces with
controls or displays like you can do for example with LabVIEW.
We are now thinking of using TestStand to get the possibility creating
such frontpanels more easiely.

What do you think: Is TestStand the right program for that?

Many thanks, CHZ

TestStand is a Test-Engine which can run with different User-Interfaces.

I think its' main-job is not doing user-interfaces. We combine it with
LabView for most of the teststeps. We are starting to use it with Delphi
for customizing the User-interface. NI has examples for user-interfaces
in LabView, CVI and Visual Basic.

CHZ,

Martin is correct in that TestStand is not a GUI development environment.
LabVIEW, CVI, or VEE are development environments for GUI applications.
TestStand is a test executive development environment. It is intended to
develop test systems. It has a test sequencing engine which has a
full-featured API to control and interact with the sequencing engine.

For more information about TestStand, please visit
http://www.ni.com/TestStand/
You can order or download a demo version. The on-line Getting Started
Manual will help you get started.
Also, if you are interested in call VEE code from TestStand, write to me
directly at paul.mueller@ni.com for an example.

You can also order or download a LabVIEW demo if you would like.
Thanks,

Hi !

TestStand can not use Hp-Vee code !

We have used Hp-Vee in our Prod. Test software, but we have stopped
using Hp-Vee and started to develop software in LabView.

LabView is best !

There is a possibility: HP VEE supports access via ActiveX. So you can call
functions from TestStand through a ActiveX adapter.
BUT: There is also an TestExecutiv from HP (new name is Agilent Technologies).
Have a look on
http://www.agilent.com/find/TestExec
