How do i mass complile to use the spc

How are you doing today? I read that teststand has the spc toolkit. I installed the kil but the version said its under is 3.0.1 and i am currently using 6.0.2 I think. It says to mass compile the 3.0.1 VI's to get to be able to use them in the newer version of labview. How do i mass compile those VI to get them to work in Labview. Also is this an example version of spc toolkit or do I have to buy the lastest version that I say for about 500 bucks. Thanks

Hi Peter,
I think there's a bit of confusion here. The SPC toolkit is for LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI. You can use it in either of these programming languages to create an operator interface for TestStand though to get the functionality built into a test executive.
I think (from what you've said) that you have an old version of the SPC toolkit which was originally compiled under LabVIEW 3.0.1. (version 1.0 of the SPC toolkit) - http://www.ni.com/support/labview/lvtool.htm#enterprise
If I'm right, you have two options.

1) Contact your local National Instruments branch and order the FREE updater so you can convert the .vi's from version 3.0.1 to version 4 compatible. From here you can use your copy of LV 6.0.2 to do the mass compile or just load them directly. (think
this is menu item -> Tools ->Advanced->Mass compile). I'm not sure what issues might surround this though.

It says

You can load LabVIEW 4.x and later VIs directly into LabVIEW 6.x. To load a VI from LabVIEW 3.x or earlier, you must use a LabVIEW VI Conversion Kit, which is available for free from National Instruments. The part number of this kit for Windows and Macintosh is 776874-03

2) The SPC toolkit is now part of the Enterprise connectivity toolkit. You can get this from the www.ni.com (purchase online) or from your local NI branch. It should be compatible with your version of LabVIEW as the .vi's are built in 5.0 (revision C)

Hope that helps
Sacha.

Actually, the SPC toolkits for LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI are included with the TestStand distribution. TestStand 2.0.1 included the LabVIEW 5.1 version. It sounds like you have an older version of TestStand. In order to get a version of the SPC toolkit that your version of LabVIEW can open, you can either upgrade your version of TestStand or do as Sacha suggests. Besides the versions of LabVIEW that they were created with, I don't know if there are any differences between the LabVIEW 3.0.1 and LabVIEW 5.1 toolkits. I do know that the toolkit that comes with TestStand 2.0.1 is the same toolkit I bought a couple of years ago before we adopted TestStand.

Thanks all! Yeah I am running Teststand 2.0, not 2.0.1 which kinda stinks. And the spc toolkit said it was written in labview 3.0.1, or somewhere around there. So Ill get the conversion kit.

The upgrade from 2.0 to 2.0.1 is free and I'd recomend doing that instead of the LabVIEW 3.0.1 conversion.
