Features

Hi all,

I am evaluating TestStand for a customer, which has special requirements. As I don't get an answer from NI itself, I try the forum.
Does TestStand natively support the following features:

  • Running a TestStand Develop System as master for create test sequences and starting/stiopping them on several Slaves running TestStand Base Deployment?
There are up to 10 Slaves which can run 2-3 different tests (like 3 running Test1, 2 running Test 2 5 running Test3).
  • Is it possible to record measurement values like force and input current, which are not part of the test-step result?
  • As these tests running for a few weeks (run to death tests), can these recorded value be showed already during a test?

I am aware that such features can be programmed outside of TestStand by using LabVIEW and maybe triggered by TestStand, but the customer thinks of reducing time of such programming by using TestStand.

Thank you for your help.

Hi, I will try to answer. Let me know if that helped:

  1. https://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370052AA-01/tsfundamentals/infotopics/setting_ts_asserver_r...
  2. You can use "log" checkbox (Parameter Logging), Additional Results or simply Step.Result.ReportText. https://www.ni.com/pl-pl/support/documentation/supplemental/08/teststand-report-generation-and-custo...
  3. Try this: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z000000P9LdSAK&l=pl-PL. You need to be cautious with your memory usage if you what to keep it running for weeks. This potential problem was discussed here: https://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-TestStand/How-to-free-up-memory-while-executing/m-p/4057931#M62132
