Do I need separate licence for running TestStand engine and files on other machines?

Hello Everybody
When I install TestStand engine to run sequences on other machine that the licenced one, do I need an extra licence for that. If we for e.g. sell our product to a custommer with TestStand engine, does he need a separate licence to use sequence files?

The short answer to your question is yes, you will need to have a license for every machine that has a TestStand installation on it. The types of license vary in cost based on the behavior required, ranging from 'development' down to a basic 'Run-Time.'

There is a PDF file containing descriptions of the basic options linked on the product pages (that I will link here) called TestStand - The Complete Test Management Environment, if you look at the last page you will see some options. If you are planning to resell TestStand sequences as part of a larger package, your best bet may be to simply call or email your sales representative for advice on what you will need to purchase to guar
antee that your customers get everything they need, and if there are any benefits to buying licenses in bulk etc.

The TestStand Run-Time licenses are much cheaper than the development license since you often need more run-time licenses than development licenses. In a typical test system, the TestStand Run-Time license will account for 1% or less of the overall test system cost. Considering the amount of time and money TestStand saves you in development, deployment, and maintenance it is an excellent value!
