Why do I keep having to enter codes

I bought the older student version of MultiSim 7.0 from Amazon for $39.99.  I installed it, and everything was fine for the first 10 days.  Then the product asked for a new activation code, which I was able to easily get through the NI website.  Now, 30 days later, it wants another activation code again.  What is going here!  Is it going to continue to ask for activation codes every month?  This is ridiculus!  My time is valuable, and when I boot-up my home computer to do a school project, I can't afford to wait 24 hours for an activation code.  What can be done about this?!

version 7 is over 4 years old.....if you bought it used, the codes I don't think are valid. If they are "new" and unopened....I'm betting your not going to get any support.

What tier is it? EDU, PRO, Power PRO?

Considering the current version is 10.0....my guess is your going to be required to upgraded to the latest version.

That would be my guess

What kind of computer system do you have?... can you give details?...

Are you logging in with different user names?... administrator rights?...

Something that changed on your system just before the release code became invalid?

The student edition bought was brand new, but merely an older version.  I use a Pentium-III 1.4GHz, 80GB-HD, 1GB-RAM... and typical drives.
