Step recovery diode in Multisim

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello!

I have to analyze and compare few step recovery diodes in Multisim, but there is a problem, i can't find any of step recovery diodes in Multisim...what should i do? Is there a posibility to create an SRD in Multisim?
For example, i have to analyze some on these diodes: http://www.aeroflex.com/ams/Metelics/pdfiles/mmd_sp.pdf

Please help, it's my first time using Multisim.

Thanks!

Hello,

You can create your very own models using the component wizard. Once you arrive to the section to input a SPICE model, you can either find the SPICE model of a specific diode online if it's available from the manufacturer, or create your own using the model maker. Selecting on diode, you can have a lot of advanced options such as the typical reverse recovery time, maximum DC source current, forward current and voltage, etc. If you know the specifics of your SRD, then you should be able to model it using the tool.

Hold on, I just saw you linked to aeroflex's SPICE models. Take a look at this tutorial to create your own component using their SPICE model.
