Layer Rename?

I finally coaxed the 4 inner layers of a design to have names that resembled what I wanted. I wanted to swap a couple of names and did this (for example):

Copper Inner 1  --> changed to Copper Inner 01

Copper Inner 2 ---> tried to change to Copper Inner 1 but got error saying name Inner 1 was in use

Worse, when I went back to change Inner 01 back to Inner 1, I still got the error saying Inner 1 was in use and couldn't change it back.

I finally got the names to at least read what I wanted by removing the space between Inner and the number, e.g. Copper Inner1, etc.

Now the problem is they aren't sorted this way in the Layers tab of the Design Toolbox but sort properly in the Spreadsheet View.  Obviously I am trying to get the layers to have names and show up in the stackup order.

Is this a bug or am I just missing some part of the secret code to make this work?

PS  I realize I could have prevented all of this by starting the design and setting up the blank layers properly but this is a 4 layer design being converted to a 6 layer.

Hi, You can't alter the layer location on the spreadsheet, but what you can do is move the content of one layer to another and here is how: 1.  Options>>PCB Properties>>Copper Layers, increase the layer pairs to 3.2.  Edit>> Selection Filter, disable everything except for traces3.  In the Design toolbox uncheck all layers except for one of your inner layer4.  Edit>>Select All to select all the traces on this layer5.  Right click on any trace6.  In the Trace Properties dialog under the Position tab, select Inner layer 4 to move all your traces to that layer.7.  Go to the second inner layer and move all traces to the layer that now empty.8.  Move the traces on inner 4 back to the second inner layer.
