Importing multiple components at once.

I have over 1500 components from Analog Devices Inc. that I am trying to import into multisim corporate database.

Does anybody know a faster way of importing these components into multisim without having to do it one at a time?

Thanks.

I've previously put together a little utility to help with just this situation. I (and NI) make no warranty this will work for you, and I strongly urge you to test with a couple files before you use it for all 1500 components. To use it:

  1. Unzip the attachment to a location on your computer. There should be two files OpenFiles.exe and unzip.exe.
  2. Ensure Multisim is running.
  3. Run OpenFiles.exe.
  4. Enter the path to the prz files in Path and the path to Multisim in App Path. (If you have zip files, that just contain prz files, enter the path to these, and check Unzip individual files).
  5. Click Start. The application will open the files one at a time. I think you will need to click something in Multisim for every file, so give this a test with a couple of files first.

I've copied the license from the BSD license that applies to the unzip that this uses. It applies to the entire attachment.

This software is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. In no event shall NI or myself be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising out of the use of or inability to use this software.
