Can't open *.ms11 files any more

Hello to all.

I have problems to open *.ms11 file since i changed the direction in "Optionen > Allgemeine Einstellungen > Pfade".

To open multisim.exe and then to go "Datei > Öffnen..."  and open *.ms11 files works fine. But to double click on a *.ms11

doesn't work any more. Doing like this starts the process to install multisim. I guess the multisim.exe can't be found. But why???

Can anybody help, please? 🙂

Hi mikcon,

which path did you explicitely change? There are different pathes you can configure. Please tell us, what did you exactly changed.

But usually this changes should not end in the behaviour you are discribing.

Please have a look in the windows system controls if Multisim is set as standard software to open *.ms11-files.

What happens, if you use the default settings again? Have you tried this? Does it then work again?

Have you tried a software repair?

Best regards,

Hi ADagli,

I changed all the paths. Everything is know saved in my multisim folder.
Windows system control shows that multisim is set as standard software to *.ms11 files.

... Oh, I found the solution. It's not allowed to delete the config and database files from "C:\....\National Instruments\Circuit Design Suite\11.0.

I replaced for example CPCOPM_S.PRJ file to my new path. Why does multisim not allow this? Now I must have the database files at two

diffrent places.

Hi mikcon,

I tried to reproduce your situation.

If I copy my databasefolder somewhere else and change the path in Multisim, then delete the original folder and restart multisim,

then everything works fine.

If it still make issues, try to repair your installation and try to change the pathes from the beginning.

Also, have a look here:
