using a Quanser multiQ board

Hello,
I am trying to use LabVIEW to control a Quanser 3 DOF helicopter system. I am currently using a Quanser multiQ - PCI board (which I believe is an incarnation of a Sensoray 626 board). Having never used LabVIEW before, I am unsure as to how I would go about linking the board to LabVIEW.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Adam

Hi Adam,

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with this particular plug in board, but I can give you some pointers that might get you started.

Firstly, you'll need some kind of driver for this board, some manufacturers will create a DLL or if you're lucky a full LabVIEW driver that will allow you to easily communicate with the board. If you have a C based dll to work with you can call this from within LabVIEW using a call library node.

I would suggest first speaking with Quanser to see if they have a LabVIEW driver, or a dll, you'll need some sort of documentation to help you figure out which commands relate to which actions on the board, but there is lots of information around for LabVIEW that will help you see how to call a dll.

Let me know if this is helpful, and how you get on with this project
