simulated 6251 in MAX Disappears

Hi All,

On my PC I have a simulated device, the PXI-6251, in MAX. All works fine. I can wire my labview programs and see if it's working before I run this on my PXI rack.
After I switch off my PC and switch it on again the simulated 6251 shown a N/A behind all parameters. Labview shows a error like device not present when I try to use the device.
I can delete this device but when I try to install a new simulated device MAX does not respond anymore.
Repairing DAQmx (8.5) solves this problem.

Does someone knows how to really solve this ?  Getting a bit tired repairing DAQmx every morning   Smiley Wink

No suggestion from anyone yet  Smiley Sad

When I delete the simulated device before I switch off my PC I can create a new simulated device after I switch on, but this doesn't always work.

Already removed DAQmx and MAX. Deleted the MAX folder and installed both again. Without any result.

So suggestion are still welcome

I have a similar problem. I was programming LabVIEW 8.2 with a simulated CompactDAQ device.

Suddenly it quit working and no amount of removing the simulated device, reinstalling MAX, etc, will let it come back.

Wish NI would provide a solution for this, as it is difficult to develop without the simulated or actual hardware.

Hi,

Yes, it's a annoying problem. Sometimes I have to reinstall (repair) DAQmx and MAX to be able to install the simulated device again. And sometimes (like this morning) the device is just there after power-up as it should.
I already reported this to NI but no solution.

I expected that they can look into the MAX files and see what is wrong.  Smiley Sad
