pci-6052e and pc power supply

Hello,

I installed 3 years ago a test system, embedding a pci-6052e DAQ card, and others NI cards (DIO, GPIB). Today, my customer encounters a problem : when he wants to measure -9.9 V, he reads -10V on some channels (at least 5). He sent me the card, and I can't reproduce the problem.

I thought it may come from the PC power supply : to protect channels, maybe clamping diodes. And if the -12V isn't -12V, but -10.5V, because it comes from of a bad power supply made in Tawain, it could explain.

Do you think i may be right, are the channels protected with clamping diodes connected to the -12V PC power supply ?

Thank you for your answers, ideas, help, support, etc.

Hi,

The best way to find where it comes from would be to test it on the same reference of computer.
If the problem appears again, it is clearly due to the PC architecture because you do not reproduce the problem.

Otherwise, I never heard about that ...
