Did you mean:

/etc/natinst/nipal/init.d/nipal: line 115: /dev/nipalk: No such device

I have a Machine CPU = 200 Mhz, i86 arch, RAM = 128 M and want to install DAQmxbase.
I wonder if 256 M Ram is a strict requiment that results in errors in following combinations:
- Mandriva 20006 + DAQmxbase 2.1
lsdad failed:

Detecting National Instruments DAQ Devices
Found the following DAQ Devices:
/usr/local/bin/lsdaq: line 7: 24321 Aborted                 /etc/natinst/nidaqmxbase/bin/daqmxbase_listdevices
file "Manriva2006-DAQ2.1.niSystemReport.out.gz" is attached

Problem seems to be nikal module

modprobe nikal
FATAL: Error inserting nikal (/lib/modules/2.6.12-12mdk-i586-up-1GB/natinst/nikal/nikal.ko): Invalid module format

- Mandrake 10.1 official with DAQmxbase 2.1/ 2.0 /1.5
following
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/CB4ADF82668B96A78625704B0071D366 ->
then install NIDAQmxbase

Installation report is attached "installationReport 1.5.txt" file. The errror
is at line

/etc/natinst/nipal/init.d/nipal: line 203:  4297 Segmentation
fault      /sbin/modprobe nipalk >&/tmp/nipalk-load.log
/etc/natinst/nipal/init.d/nipal: line 115: /dev/nipalk: No such device

Again problem is at /etc/natinst/nipal/init.d/nipal.

updataNIDrivers has report attached

At booting , it shows error when loading nipal/nipalk module like:

Hello nguyenduyhung,

Thank you for the information.  I will look into the system reports you've attached and see if I can find some more information about what is causing this error.  I'll post back to this discussion forum after I find out more information.

Hey nguyenduyhung,

It looks like you have tried several versions of NI-DAQmx Base, and Mandriva 2006/Mandrake 10.1.  For trouble shooting reasons it will be easiest if we pick one combination, and then see if we can solve the problem.  May I suggest that we try using Mandriva 2006 with DAQmx Base 2.1?  This will let us use a newer distribution with the newest driver.

The combination I suggested above is also the combination you used to produce the Manriva2006-DAQ2.1.niSystemReport.out.gz file attached.  Looking at this file I can see that the failure can be exaplained and fixed by using this KnowledgeBase.  I realize that you also pointed to this KnowledgeBase, but it was unclear if you followed these instructions with the Mandriva 2006 + NI-DAQmx Base 2.1 combination.  Could you try following these instructions and post the results?

On a side note since your machine only has 128 MB of RAM I'm not sure why you are running the 2.6.12-12mdk-i586-up-1GB kernel.  This kernel is only needed if you have more than 896 MB of RAM.  With 128 MB of RAM is should be sufficient to use the default 2.6.12-12mdk kernel.  If you use the default kernel you shouldn't need to follow the knowledgeBase above.  Either kernel should be fine, but I thought I would mention this.
