confusing about DAQ system

Actually I already attend your seminar about INTRODUCTION TO THE DATA AQUISITION SYSTEM. Currently I am working on final year project involving data acquisition system (data acquisition system for measuring strength of bulkhead of semi swath). I really want to know about:

 1. Is it possible to me to us PCMIA or NI Compact DAQ? Which one is better and effective?

 2. How much the sufficient current needed?

3. Is it enough to me to run this project without using labview software?

Hi Mohd,

Thank you for posting on the National Instruments forums.

To answer your questions:

1. The NI Compact DAQ will be better since the PCMCIA are older devices.
2. I’m not sure what you are asking here.  Are you asking if the laptop will supply enough current to run the DAQ device?  The NI Compact DAQ has it’s own external power supply, so you don’t have to worry about it.
3. It is possible to do data acquisition with SignalExpress which comes free with our latest DAQmx drivers
