Hello Charlie,
When you say "Mac worked fine..." do you mean that you're now working on a PC? As far as I know there isn't a trial version of LabVIEW for Macintosh computers so I just want to make sure we're on the same page with which computer you're using.
I'd assume you have the appropriate NI-DAQmx drivers installed since you're asking about the properties page, but for the Macintosh computer you'd want NI-DAQmx Base and for a PC you'd want NI-DAQmx. If you're talking about the properties page in the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) then it is expected behavior that you cannon access it. The properties tab is used on a number of our devices, but not on the USB-6009. If you want to be able to test out the device in MAX then you want to right click on the device and select Test Panels...
In addition to the test panels there are a number of examples available in LabVIEW. To access these examples:
1. Open LabVIEW and go to Help» Find Examples...
2. In the lower left corner you can use the Hardware drop down box to Add Device--In the new pop window select the USB-6009, move it to the right and click okay.
3. Use the drop down menu again to select the USB-6009 from the list and then click the check box that says Limit Results to Hardware.
4. The remaining examples will all work on your USB-6009.
I would use either the test panels or example programs to test your input and output. With the information you've provided it is a little difficult to pinpoint the problem, but the above steps are a good starting point. If you get hung up on one of these steps then you can post back with details about the issue. If you need to post back it would be good to know the following:
1. What operating system are you using? Since you mentioned a Mac, if you're using a Windows operating system is it a dual boot Mac or a separate PC?
2. What version of NI-DAQmx or NI-DAQmx Base are you using?
3. Is an error occurring? If so what is the error number and text?
4. I'm not familiar with "HVPS" and "HV" do these stand for high voltage power supply and high voltage?
5. What example did you try and what did you use to check the output voltage? Did you use an external meter or wire the USB-6009 output to an input?
Also, for your reference, the DAQmx Express VIs use DAQmx and not Traditional DAQ.
I hope this helps, and if not feel free to post back with more specific information to narrow down the issue.
Cheers,
