Windows cannot load installer for DAQ Device

I'm trying to install NI-DAQ 6.9.2 on Windows XP with SP1a. I go through the installer without incident, shut down, install the card (PCI-MIO-16XE-10), and reboot. When I log on, Windows tells me, "Windows could not load the installer for the DAQDevice. Contact the hardware vendor."

I've read the knowledge base entry talking about the same problem under Windows 2000, but the solution (install Service Pack 3) doesn't apply under XP. Have I somehow corrupted my Windows installation?

That is strange behavior, but I doubt that you have corrupted Windows XP. Have you tried installing a different version of NI-DAQ? Below, I have included a link to the most recent version:

NI-DAQ Version 7.2 for Windows 2000/NT/XP
