USB DAQ installation

I have 3 Dell laptops, all with WinXP, LV7.1 & Ni-DAQmx v.8.3.
When I plug a USB-6210 into one of them, it works as advertised.
But when I plug it into the other two, I get a ding-dong sound signifying a USB device has been
inserted.  But nothing shows up in the MAX even after refreshing.
Has anyone run into the same problem before?
Thanks.

It is surprising that one laptop would have no problems and the others would.  The USB-6210 requires power from the USB hub it is plugged into in order to operate, so one possible cause could be that the USB-6210 is not receiving enough power.

Does the LED on the USB-6210 ever blink?  Also, can you check to ensure that the ports on the other two laptops are powered USB ports?  If there are any other powered USB devices plugged into the other two laptops that the USB-6210 is not operating on, it might be worth trying it without the other devices plugged in, or with an external powered USB hub to determine whether or not that is the issue.

I solved the problem by formatting the HD and re-installed the OS and everthing, except ZoneAlarm.
Once I installed ZA, the USB DAQ module ceased to work again, even if I uninstalled ZA.
Fortunately I was able to do a system restore to a point before the ZA was installed.
