Hi Pat,
I would try uninstalling the device from the Windows Device Manager. Restarting the computer and then plugging in the USB-6501 and reinstalling it. If this does not fix the problem you may have a MAX database corruption on that computer. The Knowledge Base article, How Do I Recover from MAX Database Corruption?, has step by step instructions for fixing the corruption. Please let me know if you have any questions and take care.
Thanks,

Hey Pat,
So you deleted or renamed the MAX data directory and this did not clear up the problem? Removing this directory generally clears up the -88302 error. What is the manufacturer and model of the computer you are using? Does it have USB 2.0 ports or just 1.1?
Thanks,

Hi Pat,
What version of NI-DAQmx are you using? Something may be wrong with that specific computers driver installation. Do you have any other NI hardware that uses DAQmx you can test on that computer? This will let us know if the problem affects more than just the one USB-6501. I also recommend installing the newest driver version, NI-DAQmx 8.7.1. Please let me know how this goes.

Updating to the newest drivers seems to have resolved my problem, as the DAQ now passes self test and appears to work in my labview application. Thank you for your help, Nathan!
