To scale a programmable power supply using MAX or python

I have connected a programmable power supply to the DAQ and given the analog output channel ao0 to the pps along with ground to write voltage using python, when i try to set 1 volt it automatically gets scaled by 8 resulting in 8Volt, how do i apply custom scaling or is there a way to eliminate this default scale
