Synchronize serial and analog input

I need to synchronize and time-stamp the acquisition of 16 channels of analog signals on a 6036E card and serial (RS422) data acquisition through a 8431/4. The data also needs to be time-stamped for easy comparison between analog and serial. The rate is 500 Hz. I this even possible?
I have had success reading and time-stamping serial data in 2 msec time intervals but would this be possible together with sampling 16 analog input channels.

Hello,

It will depend on how you are doing the data acquisition. If you are doing independent loops it should work fine because they will be running in different threads.
If you are using LabVIEW, you can even do two separate subVIs to force LabVIEW to run in multiple threads.
I would suggest you to try two independent VI or programs and test them one by one. Once you have that then call the two VIs or programs from your main application.
