Selfttest for traditional DAQ PCI-6115

Hi all,

is there a way to selftest a traditinal DAQ-board? As far as I found in the online help files of MAX you can do it with Dmx-boards, but I haven't found a similiar tool for traditional DAQ.

Everythin worked find until my hard disk crashed few weeks ago. After reinstalling LabView 7.0 and DAQ 7.2 I can't aquire analog signals anymore. I don't get an error message, thus there seems to be everything fine, but I get only a zero line

Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi Stephan,

you can rout AO to AI of PCI-6115. You need two VIs.
First one produce a signal like example 5V DC and the second VI read this signal. This is the way to realize selftest with LV.

Hi TN,

thank you for your answer. I did this using the test panel from MAX, but I don,t get an output signal (even on an oscilloscope) and I don't get an input signal (even from an external function generator).
LV is controlling the card because I can hear it changing the different ranges of voltage sensitivity (something which it did from the first day on).
The selftest of resources in MAX is passed without trouble on two different PCI slots.
You see, I'm runnig out of options.
I presume that something goes wrong in the driver communication after reinstalling my computer from bottom up. I can't imagine that the card was damaged staying in my computer unused the last 3 months.

Is there a way to test interanl functions of the card ?

Thank y
ou very much again!

Hello Stephan,

which driver version do you have? The current version is 7.2. You can download it here:

http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/50F76C287F531AA786256E7500634BE3?opendocument&node=132060_US

If you cann't get any signal in MAX-Testpanel so I think something is wrong with your PCI-Card.
You can fax NI they can send you a loaner card for 2 weeks. You can test it with your application. If all VIs run correctly and you can get signal in MAX so your card is may be defect.
