Recording WAV files with NI example SVXMPL_WAV Recorder.VI

I am trying to understand the SVXMPL_WAV Recorder.VI.

Why is AI Voltage used instead of AI Microphone? Is AI Microphone the same as AI Voltage but just with more parameters?

How is the microphone sensitivity controlled in this VI?

Just to clarify my question:

I need to ensure consistency in my data acquisition overtime. Is obtaining the sensor sensitivity using SVT calibration VI necessary. If so how is this calibration matter handled in this example SVXMPL_WAV Recorder.VI. Is this related to scaling, or do I have my terms confused?
