PCI-6115, stream to disk

Hello!

I'm using the multifunction NI PCI-6115. I try to acquire data continuosly from the 4 channels and stream it to disk. I can acquire data at a maximum sampling rate of approximately 3MS/s without an overwrite error occuring. In the website it says:"Depending on your hard drive, the PCI-6115 can stream to disk at up to 8 MS/s.".
This is only a problem of the hard disk or also of the PCI-Bus? What disk do you advise for a stream to disk of 8MS/s? This 8Ms/s are per channel?!?

Thanks in advance.

Ps:I'm using Labview...

Are you using the special stream to disk functions or the regular DAQ input and disk writes. The highest performance numbers are only achieved with the special steaming functions.

I think I´m using the regular DAQ input and disk writes, because I use functions like:
-->AI_config, AI_start, AIRead, AI_clear (DAQ)
-->Open/Create , Read, Close (Disk writes).

What do you mean by "special streaming functions"?Can you give me some names of that functions? Do you have any .vi example which could help me?

Thanks for you answer.

search for "High-Speed Data-Logging VIs" on the NI site to reach the routines that I was talking about. I am not sure if these routines are supported under latest driver versions. I hope so.
