Outputting external scan clock rate??

I'm externally controlling my scan clock rate with a rotary shaft encoder that gives 720 TTL pulses every revolution. I've used the AI Clock  Config vi to set this up. I'd like to know how i can monitor, on screen, the actual rate at which I'm scanning. Essentially this would be a measure of my encoder rpm. How do I do this?

Thanks
Theo

Theo,

you can try to use the counter, set it up for frequency-measurement and measure your rotational speed. just devide down the frequency you measure by the number of ticks/rev. this should work fine if the acceleration/deceleration are quite slow.

Thank you for the reply Norbert..
I managed to do it in the end, by using the "measure frequency" vi, and wiring the pulse from my external clock (rotary shaft encoder) to the DAQ board's counter. Works just as I needed!

Cheers
