Hello,
can you tell me if its possible to communicate with the NI Card above and an SENT sensor?
Thanks a lot.
Greetings,
Ben

Hey Ben,
I've looked into your problem and have a few questions to ask. If you are planning on using an NI USB-6361 there are some considerations you will need to take into account. You'll require a terminal block in order to connect your SENT sensor to the Data Acquisition (DAQ) Card (the NI USB-6361). Unfortunately National Instruments does not manufacture a terminal block that allows you to directly connect to your sensor. Therefore may I ask which connectors are you using? From searching online it seems that the most common connectors for a SENT sensor use 3 pins, one for ground, one for power (5V) and one for signal.
Another option availiable to you is to consider purchasing a Compact RIO (Reconfigurable Input/Output) from National Instruments as this contains an onboard reprogrammable FGPA which is better suited to measure the width of the pulses in the SENT protocol due to it's higher sampling rate. Another advantage to the Compact RIO is that you will not require a terminal block to connect to your sensor as tthe Compact RIO comes equipped with customisable input modules.
Looking forwards to your reply.
Thanks, Justin Powell.
