NI-TB-9212 Compact DAQ (8 channel) is not reading value for a single channel

Hello,

I am writing here because I have looked everywhere else for information on this issue (and found none).

I have a NI TB 9212 temperature compact DAQ (8 channels).  I have been using this specific hardware without issue for a couple months. (And I have been using Compact Daq in general for several years).  After running a test last week, the AI-5 Channel would not read a sensical value (and all other channels were working just fine).  When I plug the thermocouple into the channel, the software reads a very low value (i.e., -9.1E8 °F).  This value undoubtedly corresponds to the value that would be given if no thermocouple was plugged into the channel (i.e., open).  In other words, the value displayed does not change after putting a thermocouple into the ports.

Here are the items I have tried.

Different thermocouples (and confirming they work in other channels).

I have tried bypassing the screw/wire connections, and touching the thermocouples directly to the chip leads that go directly into the DAQ.

Resetting the device in NI MAX

Updating all drivers in NI Package Manager

Using the hardware on a completely different computer with older (2015) Signal Express Software.

I have tried creating a simple new application with DAQ Express (the basic DAQmx task that is default in DAQ Express).

NOTE: For all channels except AI5, the raw voltage reading when the channels are open (no thermocouples) is about +73mV.  Although, for channel AI-5, the number says -73mV.  (This is the only difference that I was able to recon).

I can't help but thinking that maybe something in the device is physically broken.  I would be extremely grateful is anyone would be able to give some more troubleshooting info or advice on this.
