MAX database connection error

I've moved a NI PCI-6251 and NI PCI-CAN/2 from an old computer (P3, win NT Labview 7.1) to a new one (P4, winXP, Labview 8.2 EVAL). After installation I can't access anything in MAX (installed driver DAQ8.3 and CAN 2.3.3). The error message is:

"MAX Database Connection Error"
There was a problem connecting to the database.
Please restart your computer and contact National Instruments id the problem persists."

Well, the problem does persist...

I've attatched the report from MAX.

I had the same problem and it appears that the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX\Data folder gets corrupted. Rename this folder something like Data2 and reboot your computer. The first time MAX is launched it will create a new Data folder and all should be fine. However all your configurations, scales, and channels stored in MAX will be lost. They are still in the Data2 folder, but I don't know if you can restore them. I don't know what corrupts the file, but it is a pain to deal with.

Deleting the MAX folder may solve your problem.   If not follow the instructions in this KB.

Thank you for your suggestions! The problem was caused by the F-secure protection suite. I had of course tried to dissable the firewall, since firewalls can cause strange errors. That wasn't enough, the computer had to be rebooted as well. This problem took me some days to figure out and the NI support could not help me. It working now anyway! Smiley Happy

I can't delete or change the name of the "data" folder because the "config3.mxd" files can't be delete.
How can I do I'm searching a solution for many days?
