We've got several DAQCard-6036E cards that we want to continue using but newer computers have expresscard slots instead of PC card slots. Any suggestions on how to adapt these older cards to newer computers? I saw an earlier post that said NI doesn't support third party adapters. Does that mean these cards are useless with newer laptops? Thanks for the help.

However, As you mentioned NI does not supprt this third-party adaptor.
Legacy DAQ devices are becomming harder to find support for- and IMHO limit your application unreasonably. Were I a student- I would be concerned about relying on out-dated equipment to meet my educational needs as real world tools and methods move far past your zone of experience.

Hi,
We have the same problem! Please, if you have some information about how to make the adaptation of DAQCard-6036E with USB, keep me informed.
Thanks! and good look!

Hi Berton and welcome to the NI Discussion Forums!
Jeff Bohrer is right in that we don't officially support third party adapters, but that is the only way to convert a PCMCIA card to USB. The link he posted was the only thing I found in my brief Google search as well. Note that that adapter was specifically made for wireless PCMCIA cards, and is not guaranteed to work with the DAQCard-6036E.
We do however have some incredible USB Data Acquisition devices that plug directly into the USB port of your computer. You can search these online at http://www.ni.com/dataacquisition/ or you can just call one of our sales representatives who will ask you what type of application you are developing and help you choose something that will fit your needs. You can contact them through http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/nicc.call_me
If anyone knows of an adapter that does work with DAQCards please let us know,
