How do I hold a value?

How do I hold a value? I would like to hold a value when a boolean signal goes true. I have tried to use a select function, but it will not let you wire the output back to an input.

Can you elaborate on your application a little more? How is the boolean signal controlled - is it an input from another digital line, or controlled from the user interface? What kind of hardware and software are you using? Below is a modified version of the LabVIEW shipping example, "Write Dig Chan.vi". When the "True or False" boolean is set to true, the digital output is set held at this value. When the control is set to the False state, another control is used to control the digital value.
