DAQCard - Safely remove hardware

Hi I have a DAQCard 6024E and I would like to know if it should be appearing on the Safely Remove hardware list in the system tray (Windows XP).

If it should be there how do I get it to apear on the list? If I right click on the task bar and go to customize notifications I have Safely Remove Hardware set to always show.

I have just installed NI DAQ on another Windows 2000 PC and it doesn't show on there either.

Is it OK to just eject the DAQCard without stopping it?

Regards
Nick

Hello Nick,

PCMCIA cards are hot-swappable, so it should always be "safe" to remove them in terms of the hardware.  Windows might get a little confused as to why there is no longer a PCMCIA card, but I don't think it should cause any serious issues.  If anything is accessing the card (your program, MAX, etc.) then Windows is probably not going to list it as a device that is safe to remove.  However, I think you are fine just ejecting the card.
