my computer would not load windows right after I've installed LABVIEW 8.5. Can this issue fixed? I have no back up for my custom LABVIEW VI's.

Good afternoon,

Assuming this computer is a microsoft windows machine, my recommendation would be to start the computer in safe mode by pressing and holding the "F8" key while the machine is booting up.   Select to boot the computer in "safe mode" without hardware drivers.   Assuming again you have not experienced some type of fatal mechanical problem with your hard drive you should be able to get into windows.   Have a USB key ready and backup your important data 1st thing!   Once your data is safe, I would suggest removing Labview 8.5 and then rebooting to confirm it was indeed that installation that bombed the system.   It may be something else.

1. Confirm your NIDAQ hardware and drivers were successfully installed.

2. Reinstall updated NIDAQ drivers if neccessary.

3. Reinstall Labview 8.5 under an administrator account, making sure to disable all anti-virus programs before beginning.

Give that a try...

Good luck!

Zach

Have you just installed some new device?   My initial thoughs are that that you have a hardware conflict.   Check your system and hardware compatibility.   This has moved beyond my scope so this will be my last post.   However, I will suggest a few final strategies that I have worked for me with troubled machines in the past.

1. You have a hardware conflict.   Systematically disconnect/remove hardware devices one by one rebooting after each until you get windows back.   Remove the newest hardware first!   That will tell you who the culprit is.

2. Windows is corrupt.   Remove the hard drive and slave it into another working PC.   This will allow you to recover your data.   Make sure to copy everything important off the drive!   Put it back in the machine and reinstall Windows with a fresh full format from CDROM.

3. The hard drive is dead.   If this is the case there is not much that can be done.   If step #2 failed all I can say is give it a good shake and try again.   You may get one last breath of life out of it to back up your data.

Good Luck!

Zach
