Clarification on part numbers

I am hoping you can help me with some of the NB-MIO-16 boards we have. We have several boards with part numbers that end in the -01 or -11 but have different numbers before the -. Is there a way to understand what these numbers mean? Example, does the 70130 in the part number 70130-01 give additional information about the card configuration. I hope this is clear. Thanks

Phearn,

Sometimes a letter in the part number can be used to identify the revision of the card (ie A=1 etc).  That is only the real use outside of that is for internal use in tracking each card.

Thanks for the reply. I do have an additional question I hope you can help with. The Assy numbers on the board end with a different number after the dash. Example 180500-13, 180500-02, 180500-01, and 180500-11. Is there a way to know if these numbers correspond with features on the board? Thanks.

Phearn,

Those numbers do correspond with different revisions of the board.    I have no way of figuring out what was changed on this board especially when a board is this old but I must stress that all of these changes are relatively minor.  Generally speaking revisions do not add features to a board they are generally used to improve individual components that might have been EOL (end of life) by a supplier, a component that didn't perform as expected, or might have been leading to decreased longevity of the board.
