Chassis Empty Error--200073 Using 1000 chassis, scxi-6036, 1102, 1303

I've been using a 1000 chassis along with a 6036, 1102, 1303 for about a week with no trouble. We came in one morning to find the "chassis empty" error. Nothing had been changed. All the addresses are correct (since it was working), fuses are good, connections are secure. We changed chassis slots and re-configured the software. Still getting the same error --200073. Any ideas?

Thank you for contacting National Instruments.

First of all, it sounds like you have gone through a lot of the initial troubleshooting techniques. Make sure that a cable or module was not accidentally knocked loose and that all of the hardware is still properly installed. Then I would move the modules to a different slot in the chassis and delete and then re-add the SCXI chassis and modules into Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) and see if they can be recognized properly then.

If they are still not seen in MAX then I would try to test another module, chassis, and cable if they are available.

If that is not an option, then if signals were connected to the modules when you left then there is a chance that the module may have been damaged as a result o
f a high voltage input or a short. I would check the signals being read by the module to see if that would be possible and compare the signals you are receiving to the published specifications of the module and hardware.

Hopefully these steps will help you discover where the problem lies in your system. If you have any other questions or comments then please let us know.
