Hello,
Are you trying to create a Traditional Custom Scale or a DAQmx Custom Scale, also, what version of the NI-DAQ driver are you using? Either way, this is not expected behavior. Can you confirm that you keyboard is working correct by simply typing in a different application on your computer.
If the keyboard isn't the problem, see if you are able to rename by right-clicking and select Rename (this won't be an option if you are doing Traditional Scales). If still unable, try to copy and paste a name into it.
