6008 PFI Triggering

I'm looking to trigger the PFI channel on my USB-6008 DAQ card. I want to trigger it x times, and each time take a reading (or a few) through an analog input. Then I want to aquire the data from the FIFO to the PC in one transfer (so it is dedicated to taking readings for fast timing, then shooting the data over once one cycle of readings has finished).

Is this possible with the 6008, if so how do I progress towards this goal? And if not, what would be the fastest way to do such a thing.

The KB below describes that not possible to perform retriggerable analog input using the 6009

The 6008 and 6009 devices only have one counter, and that is what is used to implement triggers. The USB-6008 only has 1 PFI line, which is configured as either a trigger line or as a counter line.  Basically what you have to do if you want a triggered Counter Input is you will have to make a Software Trigger.
