Solved!

what hardware do I need in order to communicate with a F93000 Fisnar Robot which is windows based, has its own controller and is PTP .  I want to be able to call a preloaded program to the robot using Labview.

A long time ago I worked with a Fisnar 3 axis dispensing robot.

I used a digital I/O card to call and start pre-loaded prgraoms (outputs of the DAQ) along with monitoring the status of the robot (inputs of the DAQ). Look at the I/O interfacing section of the manual to see what I/O is available.

It was a PCI-6025 which is now probably obsolete. Presuming you don't need to do any timed I/O, a software timed DIO card should suffice. You should make sure the voltage and current drive levels of a DAQ card you choose meet the signals needed for the robot.
